indie_011:
the grand el grande gran

TIME:: Saturday June 19th, 14.05

Check the corner of any McDonalds menus. "Smiles" are free. FREE IS GOOD CHEAP!

Okay, so lets run through the damage. From front to back we got the cheeseburger in orange, bacon double cheeseburger in red, the McGrand in red/yellow and the Double McGrand in green stars.

This monster of a burger, by Japanese McDonalds standards, is probably very tiny and small. Having this massive block of 100% Australian beeeeeeefu insulted by taking its picture with a cheapo cell phone camera will probably score me some negative points when I stand in front of the Pearly Gates... But it must be shown. The pack of cigarettes also shown is normal-sized. I do not endorse smoking in any way by showing it, but just needed it for scale. Nick ate this.

Originally, way back when the McDippers first launched in Japan, I had an idea to showcase them here in an indie adventure. They are like Chicken McNuggets except made of fish. They come in boxes of 3, 4, 6, 12 and the like. The 12-size is more of a tub, and the 4 may have been a limited-edition type of thing, because I don:t see it too often anymore. But live it up, I won:t be ordering them again anytime soon. For their price and value... Nah. Not for me. Come to think of it, what really is all that interesting about some stupid food from McDonalds?

Oh yeah. The condiments. WASABI FLAVOURED SAUCE. First off, I feel bad having to type the Britishy "flavour" instead of the one accepted by modern English. Flavor. FLAVOR, people, c:mon now!! Even FrontPage is telling me to correct it to "FLAVORED"... *ahem* I should point out that fish-nugget items were thought of as "easy to accept" by the Japanese McDonald demographic. So naturally any sauce it sold with would be Japanesey or goofy in some way or another.

Sweet Chili Sauce is a little better. Kind of like sweet and sour, but with less sour and more spicy. The name Sweet Spicy Sauce was probably copyrighted or "not misleading enough". Between the two and that other very, very bland tartar sauce *not shown* this is the best. Nick thought otherwise, but who really cares? No one, Nick!! NO ONE!!!

back to the burgers! Here:s the McGrand. Not as unhealthy as the Double McGrand Nick got, but 4 of those McDippers leveled the playing field nicely between us two. Still, a mighty fine sandwich. Glad I bought it. Wish I had one now...

The double cheeseburger gets no capitalization. It:s not really great when compared to the McGrand or the Bacon Lettuce Burger. It:s just a regular burger with an extra patty and some cheese. This burger was also mine.

And here we are, scraping the bottom of the barrel for one more shot of, yes, more burger goodness. The cheeseburger. Normally they look better than this when you order them. I think this one was dropped on the ground before or after purchase. Nick didn:t seem to notice. Mwa hahahaha!

Start things off with a smile, end them with a nice shot of the table. Tattered scraps of paper smeared with ketchup and burger bun grease. Or maybe it was burger grease. Either way, it was a good meal. The McDonalds where this indie took place in is the fairly big one right next to Shibuya station, but not the one next to the Sega Arcade. That one is small, and lacks a McDonalds. SO!

In closing, remember that waiting for your friends to show up may make you hungry.

Eat at McDonalds. They gots good food.

And don:t smoke on National Television.

Also I had this shirt on that day. Not the best of pictures, but still. It:s not like you expect anything worth reading on these pages.

This indie adventure happened about 2-3 weeks back. Why did it take so long to put up? Well... Life is like that sometimes. *whine whine whine* Okay, seriously, there was a lot going on that weekend, and the next week was all finals and then last week was all vacation. Vacation means I don:t get to use the school internet lab to upload pictures. Also, throw in the odd server change and complete re-design the site went under and there you go. An excuse is born.

PEACE!!
