indie_012:
yokohama madness

June 28th, 2004, morning

Yep. Had a big day ahead of me. Zero, yes, the Zero I am always mentioning, was going to send his brother up to Tokyo to chill out with DonMarco and crew for a few days. Since I didn:t know when exactly his little brother, Zack, would be in arriving, or even to which station... I got it in me to wake up early and hang out in Shibuya and/or ride the Yamanote for a few loops. Both were cheap and interesting options.

ENTER MYSTERY GUEST! Only clue is that the JoJo is number 8 and the ticket from Shibuya to Musashi-kosugi is 190 yen. Mystery Guest and I met up around 10-ish and decided to head down to Yokohama. This photo was taken at 10:08 and still no word from Zero.

Worship this picture. It may be the best shot I have ever taken. Maybe not. Still, what would I know about taking pictures? 11"15 we got to Yokohama and still no word from Zero.

anY1 kn0 wH3r3 to f1nD "teh g4ameZ"? OMGF HArH 4ar!1!

Ahem. So Mystery Guest and I get out of the station, apparently on the wrong side of town, Yokohama station is that big. So we walked and walked... Al the way down there then around that corner, stopped off at a convenience store then finally decided to back track for the station. I take full blame.

So there is Yokohama! Waaaaaaaaaaaay over there! Or downtown Yokohama, at least. There must a been a good reason to thrown all the skyscrapers waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay over there, huh?

Looking down gave me a slight indication that things could be better. Lost, tired, sweating and now radiated we needed a break from this. Food.

"Man! D.M. is going to rant AGAIN about food? Sigh." Shut up shut up shut up, Voice In My Head. Food is important to me. It:s important to anyone, really. For the record, this is the first Mexican food I have ordered in the last 9 months. But, as with any decent Mexican joint...

Free chips and salsa! All-you-can-eat! That other picture, with the comic book or whatever, has nothing on this. Like King Kong. And speaking of famous travelers... Zack called mid-dining and demanded to meet sometime soon at Tokyo station. Tokyo Station is big, but more importantly, is about 450 yen and an hour away. We had to say goodbye and we left. To be clever, we would stay close to the complex and find our way back to the station on foot. No more of me getting us lost that day... We left the restaurant around one in the afternoon. 1:10 maybe.

Huh. In a bizarre way... these two ladies were also at the restaurant, and we left BEFORE them. So how come they got to the station before we did? Yeah... I got us lost. But to be fair, There weren:t a lot of maps around. It:s all just one big coincidence. Seeing two people again you didn:t think you would have. It was 1:35 when we got on our train.

OMGF! Today:s special Mystery Guest is none other than Tim Rogers! What are the odds!

And on a more serious note. See how he:s near the map with a look of confusion and pointing at himself? I assure you it means nothing. Don:t read into this too much. Nothing I make sense when writing these indie adventures at like 7 in the morning. NOTHING!!

And here:s the Man of the Week, ZACK! He:s normally one of funnier kinda guys one would meet. But... He said I couldn:t take an embarrassing picture with my "crappy phone" so I was like "hold this and prepare yourself to be seen by up to 20 people in a poorly written and ultimately off-topic indie adventure!!" He held the manga, and this super-powerful wave of goofiness came over him. In the background a woman grabbed her child from the basket and ran full-speed in the opposite direction. An old man fainted, dropping a brown bag full of oranges which rolled in all directions. Trains were re-routed and air traffic controllers were panicked slightly. I took a picture.

-----

As I write this. It is late. Well, late for me at least. I should have been in bed 10 hours ago. I got school to go to and summer vacation is over. ALL ONE WEEK OF IT. Zack left Japan about 2 days ago, off to Colorado. Back to where he definitely can find Mexican food with no problem.

I won:t be in Yokohama for a while. I won:t have Mexican food for a while. I won:t see Zack again for a while. But at least I have these nice little adventures to remind me why I need to do somethingor find something. Oh well. I:ll remember it later.

PEACE!!
